Abstract

Dr. Jon Sperry, Ph.D., LMHC, NCC, QS, and Jeremiah Wong, M.S., CCSCC, GCDF, hold a virtual workshop, "Career Counseling with a Focused Case Conceptualization Model," for the Florida Career Development Association (FDCA).

Career counselors are living in the "era of accountability" in which they are increasingly expected to provide services that are effective. Central to such accountability is the capacity to develop accurate and compelling case conceptualizations which can explain the presenting challenges and obstacles, utilize strengths and assets, as well as inform the career counseling process with each unique client. This workshop describes a step-by-step strategy and process for developing a concise, accurate, and compelling case conceptualization and intervention plan with several career development theories-to-practice connection.
