Organizes chronologically and explores two broad themes: the struggle for justice, and civic life and the development of a civil society. It presents many founding documents of the United States. In doing so, written and multimedia introductions are offered at the beginning of each chapter to provide readers with additional context to further connect each reading with the overall thematic areas.
