Abstract
In today’s increasingly polarized sociopolitical climate, counselor educators, supervisors, and trainees face new challenges navigating ruptures in clinical practice, teaching, and supervision. This session focuses on strategies for addressing and repairing ruptures in practice, teaching, and supervision through fostering inclusivity and supporting diverse perspectives in moments of conflict and tension. We will explore and critique pedagogical strategies for facilitating dialogue while maintaining a safe learning environment. Finally, we will incorporate a social justice model of supervision and ecological systems to address relational dynamics, power imbalances, systemic oppression, and advocacy in educational and supervisory settings.
