Abstract

What are the chemical principles that allow your body to work? We are each made of millions of living cells composed of thousands of compounds that are in a perpetual state of chemical action. These processes give a living organism, a living machine. What are the key chemical components in the body? How does nutrition fit with how the body works? Why do you need energy? How do you fix problems when the body breaks, and how do poisons interfere with the natural processes? Our chemical machine needs chemicals to stay healthy, but misuse can lead to dysfunction. This Multi-Touch Book contains course activities including simple experiments and projects that explore the science of life, nutrition, medicines, and poisons. DSL 300
