Abstract
Oftentimes we miss the mark with outreach initiatives by trying to appeal widely to our audiences. Through targeted outreach efforts we can strategically save time and be more effective in reaching our audiences. Opportunities to target audiences come in many formats. This panel will feature a variety of initiatives that library communicators can adapt for their own populations and institutions. Panelists will discuss the tools needed to create both a strategic marketing plan and individual personas to better serve and connect with diverse library users, share ways to identify and collaborate with campus partners, and discuss student-focused marketing and outreach through peer leaders. Attendees can ask questions and continue the discussion in small groups to reflect on how their institutions can implement similar outreach strategies.
