Abstract

Students are increasingly adding college-level credit courses at the high school level or transferring credit from previous colleges. From your eager high school student to your junior college athlete, this session will review the work admission counselors face in determining how college credit levels will apply to the student’s academic plan and major, and make recommendations for best practices for high school counselors, admission counselors, and postsecondary college professionals.

Participants will understand the resources in determining transfer credit eligibility at the high school and college level Participants will understand best practices and how to best counsel students during the college counseling and admission processParticipants will understand the experiences and expectations to prepare students for the successful transferability of creditsParticipants will understand policies and pathways students can pursue for college attainment.
